How To: Request a Home Visit

Requests must be made before 11.00am as they need to be allocated and the visits will be made between 12.30pm and 2.00pm. We always prefer to see you in the surgery where we have better facilities, diagnostic aids and lighting to assess you.

We would request that, apart from the genuinely housebound, all other patients attend the surgery rather than request a home visit because of the extra time home visiting takes.

If, however, you are too ill to attend, then a request for a home visit can be made by telephoning 01778 562200. Be ready to provide some details of your problem and your telephone number.  A doctor will then telephone you back in order to assess your request.

Ultimately it is the doctors right to decide whether or not a visit is appropriate for a particular set of circumstances.

Emergency Visits

For life-threatening situations are undertaken at any time, but it is usually more appropriate to dial 999 in these situations and you may be asked to do this by our staff or the duty doctor.
