Happy To Chat Area

At The Galletly Practice we strive to help you however we can. We know how important your mental health is and the impact it can have on your physical health and sense of wellbeing.

Our ‘Happy to Chat’ campaign came about after a study into social isolation and loneliness in 2019. Over 700 GPs were interviewed and the findings were devastating.

  • Four in ten GPs reported regularly seeing patients who are lonely, rather than needing medical help.
  • Over 60% of GPs agreed that loneliness is a much bigger problem in today’s society than 10 years ago.
  • Sadly a third of GPs felt that treating lonely patients had an impact on other NHS resources.
  • It is widely recognised that all patients, regardless of age, are increasingly vulnerable to loneliness.

Whilst we have made efforts to help you with a number of projects

we would like to help when you come into the practice.

We have a designated area in our Blue Waiting Room called the ‘Happy to Chat’ area. Please sit here if you don’t mind someone stopping to say Hello. If you have some time please enjoy a conversation with someone sitting here, it could make all the difference to your days and everyone’s wellbeing.

Thank you for helping each other.
