In all the excitement this Halloween, children may want to tuck into their sweets whilst they’re on the move. But it’s best to avoid eating while walking or running, so you may want to save up all the treats to enjoy back at home.Sitting down to eat massively reduces the risk of choking. Plus, don’t forget choking is silent. So be sure to watch children whilst they’re eating so you can react quickly if they get into trouble. And, watch out for treats that are a higher choking risk for young children. Hard sweets, lollipops, mini-eggs and marshmallows are all common choking hazards. For more top tips on how to #ScareSafely this Halloween visit: capt.org.uk/halloween/#ChildSafety #Halloween2025 #HalloweenUK #BeBurnsAware ... ⏰ Why We May Not Be Able to See You If You Arrive Late for Your AppointmentWe completely understand that life can be unpredictable — traffic, work, or family emergencies happen! However, we’d like to explain why it’s often not possible for GPs and our clinical teams to see patients who arrive late for their appointments. Here’s why 👇 1. Tight Schedules:Each GP and nurse appointment is carefully timed (usually 10–15 minutes) to allow us to see everyone booked that day. A late start can cause a domino effect, delaying every appointment after yours. 2. Patient Safety:Rushing an appointment to “fit you in” means we might not have enough time to give you the safe, thorough care you deserve. 3. Emergency and Home Visits:GPs often have urgent tasks, calls, and home visits booked between or after surgery appointments. Running late can affect these too. 4. Fairness to Other Patients:Many patients wait days or weeks for an appointment. Keeping to time helps ensure everyone gets a fair chance to be seen promptly. 5. Respect for Staff and Workflow:The entire surgery team — from reception to nurses — relies on a smooth schedule to provide the best care possible. We always try to be understanding, and if you’re running late, please call us. Depending on the delay, we might be able to rearrange or rebook your appointment. We know that we run late at times, but please understand that us running behind and working late to catch up is not comparable to us prepping for a patient who doesn't attend for their appointment on time. We run late because some patients need that extra 5, 10, 15 minutes because of a medical emergency and we hope you would be grateful for us (and others in the waiting room) making allowances to ensure that you receive the best possible care. ❤️ Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep the practice running smoothly for everyone. ...
